What are VIP Days?
If you’re looking to give your clients a top-notch experience that brings stellar results in a short timeframe, then offering VIP Days is key.
A VIP day offer is typically honed in on a very specific result that your client wants to achieve. Your offer helps them get there rapidly and efficiently.
Here are some examples of a VIP Days offer by business type:
Let’s say you’re an online business coach serving primarily newer business owners. Because of the time you’ve spent with your clients, you know their common struggles and needs. So, you create a “fast-track” offer where you spend the day with them hashing out their strategies – from marketing to client attraction, it is a 4-6 hour strategy-packed day where your client walks away with a clear path to follow.
Online Business Manager
An OBM (or Online Business Manager) often has a list of clients that are on a retainer with them. This means each month they dedicate a certain amount of time to each business and help them with their operations, project management, and systems setup.
However, things can seem to take FOREVER and a day with retainer packages – this comes from personal experience as well as what I hear is happening in the industry.
Your clients may want quicker results. So, you identify the top need(s) of your clients and develop a VIP day offer that gets them what they want (systems set up, etc..) in days vs months.
Generally speaking, a one-day offer is priced at at least $1,000 and lasts anywhere from 4-8 hours. You can also have a multi-day offer. These often run $3,000 up to over $8,000, depending on what your offer delivers.
The more value your offer has, the higher it should be priced.
Why should you offer VIP Days in your service-based business
Offering VIP Days in your service-based business can be an incredibly powerful and lucrative way to stand out from the competition, attract more clients and increase revenue. Additionally, they are great because they offer clients an exclusive opportunity to work with you one on one.
A solid offer also allows you to help more people get results faster and help them reach their goals even faster. They can give you the freedom to focus on the areas that you are most passionate about and create a highly engaging experience tailored specifically to your client’s needs.
Other benefits of VIP Days include:
Reach More of your Target Audience
VIP Days are an excellent way to reach more of the audience you wish to serve. They allow you to offer a unique, personalized service that goes beyond what is typically offered in traditional one-on-one services.
By dedicating an entire day (or multiple days) to your client, VIP Days allow you to provide them with a comprehensive and tailored experience that will meet their specific needs.
Foster Stronger Relationships with Clients
VIP Days are an effective way to foster stronger relationships with your clients. They allow you to get to know your client’s needs and goals in a more intimate setting, allowing you to create a personalized experience that meets their specific needs. You can tailor the day’s activities around their desired outcome and provide them with valuable feedback as they work through it together.
Generate Higher Revenues for Your Business
VIP Days are a great way for businesses to generate higher revenues in less time. This is because you are getting paid for your efficiency. Efficiency not only helps clients reach their goals faster but also allows you to increase your revenue by charging premium rates for maximum results.
Why Clients Love VIP Days
Bottom line, clients love these offers because it gets them more of what they want in a shorter time frame. They are incredibly beneficial for clients because they allow them to get the specialized help and tailored guidance that they will benefit from immediately (versus waiting months to receive a similar benefit).
Time is valuable and your offer should be designed to help your client get the most out of the experience. Think of “VIP” style services that you may have used before, perhaps without even knowing it…
Common VIP styles services we may not even know are VIP services
- Cell phone companies: did you know that by going into a cell phone company store and buying your phone/plan through them you are often paying hundreds of dollars more than grabbing one of the pre-paid plans where you bring your own phone? Why is this? Because cell phone companies offer you the benefit of payment plans on your phone. They may even offer “extra” like a subscription to Hulu, Disney, etc… they set up the sim card for you…you are paying more for convenience.
- Are you a Disney fan? If so, you may have experienced paying for the Fast Pass – it gives you “VIP” status so you can skip in front of the lines and do what you came to do – have fun and ride all the rides!
- Think of the last time you ordered from Doordash or had your groceries delivered. You likely paid for that service, right? And, you more than likely tipped the driver. These kinds of services offer a “VIP” status, of sorts, where you are paying for the convenience. It saved you valuable time and you received the “result” (ie: product) quickly. And in exchange for the speed, efficiency and results, you paid more.
VIP Days allow your client to skyrocket to success in record time. You help get them up and running quickly so they can jumpstart their goals faster than ever before.
Tips for Creating an Unforgettable VIP Day Experience
Creating an experience that your clients will remember often involves quite a bit of strategy and set up on your part, but it is time well spent.
Once you have the system down, it will be a repeatable system that can be used time and time again on new clients. Here are some tips to help you create an unforgettable experience:
Clarify Your Client’s Needs
Before launching your offer, it’s important to get clear on the client’s needs, objectives and desired outcome. This will ensure that you are able to provide them with the expertise, advice and support they need in order for them to reach their goals.
Provide an Agenda
Providing an agenda for your time together will help keep clients focused and ensure that they are able to reach their desired outcome in the most efficient way possible. It’s important to plan out each day, taking into account time for consultations, break periods and any other activities or experiences you wish to provide your clients with during the experience.
Make it Fun
Make the experience fun, engaging and educational. This can be accomplished by adding interactive activities such as workshops, Q&A sessions or virtual tours. It’s also a best practice to send your client a gift card for lunch, coffee, etc… especially if your offer involves them heavily in the process (ie: you are building their strategy together over a day or two).
Following up with clients after their experience is important to ensure that they received the value they expected and that their desired outcome was achieved. This will also help build a better relationship between you and your clients. Generally speaking, a week or two of email, Slack, Voxer, etc… support is well received and a great way to ensure all questions are answered.
Steps for setting up a successful VIP day offer
Let’s talk tech. There are several factors to consider when setting up your offer. For the most efficient VIP day offers, these items would be set up prior to onboarding your first client.
However, you could always do a “beta” offer where you offer a lower price point for the client to help you work out kinks in the process. This would ideally be done with a well-trusted client who is already familiar with your brand.
Here are some items you’ll want to consider when setting up your VIP Days offer:
Sales Page/Checkout Page:
My hands-down favorite tech for sales and checkout pages is ThriveCart. The ThriveCart Learn feature is pure perfection when it comes to offering a LMS solution for clients. I often create the sales page directly in ThriveCart and the checkout page is also on the sales page. This eliminates the need to “click away” from a web page to go to checkout.
VIP Days Contract:
Ensuring your VIP day is contractually bound and outlines everything the client receives is imperative. This step is often overlooked or “shooed away”. Disregarding a legal contract is one of the biggest mistakes a business owner can make. It’s a simple fix. Just grab this VIP Day contract and modify it to fit your VIP Day offer.
My favorite scheduling system for VIP Days is Book Like a Boss. You can set up the VIP day package and allow VIP clients to book their VIP day easily. You can even integrate with Zoom for video conferencing.
Having a reliable payment processor is key to properly handling VIP day payments. I recommend Stripe for quick, secure payments.
Client Intake Form:
Depending on the offer you create, a client intake form helps gather pertinent information and streamline the process. I use a simple Google Form or FormCan to gather this data.
Online Meeting Room:
I generally either use Zoom or Google Meet for video conferencing. They are both easy to use and have various options such as screen sharing and whiteboards that can be used for more interactive VIP day experiences.
Voxer or Slack:
Voxer and Slack will help you keep in contact with VIP day clients quickly and easily throughout the VIP day process. While not required, I often use one of these two methods to stay in contact with VIP day clients.
Having an email platform you can use to communicate with clients is a must. I use MailerLite for my email communication but an alternative like ConvertKit would work just as well.
Tips for generating interest and excitement around your offer
Creating interest and excitement around your offer is key to making your offer successful. Here are some tips on how you can do so:
- Create a VIP Day sales page with all the info clients need to know: Having an easy-to-access page with all the VIP day information will make it easier for potential VIPs to learn more about your VIP day offer. On this page include pricing, what’s included, how to book, testimonials from past VIPs, and an FAQ section.
- Leverage influencer marketing: Partnering with influencers in your industry can be a great way to spread the word about VIP Days. Ask influencers to review your VIP Day offer on their social media channels and include a call-to-action to learn more.
- Run an advertising campaign: If your VIP day offer has a higher price point, you may want to consider running an ad campaign with targeted audiences that may be interested in VIP Days. Ads can help reach potential clients who are outside of your current network.
- Send emails: Creating and sending VIP day emails to your existing list of clients can be a great way to generate interest. Make sure the email is well crafted with compelling copy, pictures, and/or videos that showcase why VIP Days are worth investing in.
- Create a referral program: Creating a referral program can be an effective way to generate interest. Offer incentives such as discounts or freebies for referrals and encourage your audience to share their VIP day experiences on social media.
